Immigration, Insecurity and Unemployment in the French Media

On 12 March Counterpoint and the Laboratoire Communication et Politique (LCP) held a seminar in Paris to present the findings of the French chapter of their joint project Nurturing populism? The impact of the media on the growth of populist right-wing parties in Netherlands, France and Finland. The discussion took place at the Laboratoire Communication et Politique (LCP).

The seminar, entitled La presse quotidienne contribue-t-elle à légitimer les combats de l’extrême-droite ?  is the first of four events seeking to engage practitioners and experts in a debate around the relationship between the media’s coverage of political and economic issues and the rise of support for populist parties.
