Joël Gombin is an Associate at Counterpoint. He contributes to our work on mobilisation. A specialist in quantitative electoral analysis and network mapping, Joël runs Datactivist (an open date analytics firm) and is also co-founder of OpinionScience, a social media mapping firm.
A regular contributor to our work on populism, he is also involved in our research on challenges to climate policy. He has also worked with us on a joint project with Budapest-based Think Tank Political Capital on Conspiracy Theories in Europe.
Based in Marseilles, Joël teaches at Science Po Aix-en-Provence. His research interests include electoral sociology and the Front National. He is the author of numerous articles on these topics as well as a monograph, Le Front National, 2016.
